WASHINGTON—Catalist, a leading progressive data utility, voluntarily recognized a staff union today. Below is a statement by Michael Frias, Catalist's Chief Executive Officer:
In consultation with our Board of Managers and Senior Leadership we are in unanimous and full support of the Catalist employees' desire to unionize and look forward to working with Communications Workers of America, Local 2236, as their collective bargaining representative. Catalist’s founding clients include unions and other pro-labor organizations and we believe strongly in the democratic right to organize. Good communication and working relationships between staff and management are key to building a stronger organization to serve the progressive community.
Our employees are at the center of all that we have done as an organization and as a member of the progressive community. Importantly, it is their resilience, commitment, and dedication that enabled us to navigate an unprecedented 2020 election cycle. We believe that together we can build a better, stronger, diverse, and equitable organization that continues to serve and meet the growing needs of the progressive community for many years to come. We are united in our commitment to fight for justice, equity, our values and the protection of our democracy at this critical moment.
