Katherine Johnson Director of Special Platforms

Katherine Johnson (née Larsen) joined Catalist in 2014. As Director of Special Platforms, she manages the development of the Catalist S Data Science Platform and data visualization dashboards, expanding the use of Tableau internally and externally. Katherine is passionate about turning data into actionable intelligence that on-the-ground staff can use to inform their decisions. Before this, she was a member of the infrastructure team, where she focused on improving and maintaining the Catalist S Data Science Platform. 

Katherine began her career with electoral campaigns in Ohio, Connecticut, and Iowa. She has also worked on Capitol Hill and at MSHC Partners as a direct mail consultant. Having seen first hand the value of data-driven decision making, Katherine moved into analytics at OMP, a direct mail and online fundraising firm, where she expanded her skills with data and coding. Katherine is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

In her free time, she enjoys board games, cross-stitching, cuddling with her cats, and chasing after her children in Washington, DC.
